April, 2009 Wow, already April... where does the time go... I have been keeping busy with Terminator at Universal. Covering the first half of the week, so it has been 3-5 days of work each week. Spring Break weeks are the next two, so we are back up to 40 hours a week for two weeks, then it will slow down again until summer. I worked on CSI NY as a stunt double. I did what they call a decelerator. I was basically tied to a rope that was then pulled up roughly 160 fet in the air, and then when they call action the operator of the machine releases the break and I fell down to about 5 feet off the ground, where I was brought to a stop. I know it sounds crazy. It was a lot of fun. The sequence will be in the episode titled 'The Past, Present, and Murder' which aired on April 15. A guy is in an office and gets caught and a fight ensues, he is then somehow thrown out the window. I am the double from the outside all the way down to the ground where he lands on a grate.... Enjoy. I cant wait to see how they edit it together with their three camera angles but here is a small video clip from my little camera so you can see what we did. Press Play button under image. If you are not finding a play button in lower left of fall video above try this link, it should autostart. alternate play it is a quicktime .mov file This is the decender machine. The rope wraps around the spindle and pulls me up in the air and then it unwinds as I fall....it is currenlty in the fully out position.
The movie I worked on last September has changed the name, it just recently update on IMDB with the new name "Takers." It is still a ways off from releasing. I started seeing this commercial that I shot last year on TV. Saw it a few times on Jay Leno, strange I never saw it myself other then finding it on Youtube until recently, but it has been out there. In the still image below before playing, I am the one at the front tire, acutally turned towards camera putting a tire down, I did that on all four tires, and I'm the tall guy at the back of the car with the hose over my shoulder, all ghost images overlaid in the same frame so it looks like 14 different guys come up to the car at the same time. Hit the link below to email me back. Have a great day. Michael D As always please take a look at my IMDB pages frequently. It updates here and there. After my last update the number went down to 22 thousand, but now it is back up over 100 thousand. Not sure exactly how the numbers work, but it relates number of hits per week and averages it out and ranks the person based on those hits. |
